Diane Eve Warren, born on September 7, 1956, is an American songwriter known for her significant contributions to the music industry. She gained early recognition for her work on DeBarge's 1985 single Rhythm of the Night. During the late 1980s, Warren joined the record label EMI and became the first songwriter in Billboard magazine history to have seven hit songs, each recorded by different artists, on the charts simultaneously. Her achievements have earned her numerous prestigious awards, including an Academy Honorary Award, a Grammy Award, an Emmy Award, and multiple Golden Globe and Billboard Music Awards. Warren has received 17 nominations for the Academy Awards, the most of any individual without a win, and was awarded an honorary Oscar at the Governors Awards in November 2022. Her songwriting catalog includes nine number-one songs and 33 top-10 hits on the Billboard Hot 100, featuring notable tracks such as Because You Loved Me by Celine Dion and I Don't Want to Miss a Thing by Aerosmith. Warren has been inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame and has received recognition on the Hollywood Walk of Fame. She was rated as the third most successful female artist in the UK and has received the Ivor Novello Award along with a Special International Award in 2008. She founded the publishing company Realsongs, which holds the masters of her work. Her debut studio album was released on August 27, 2021.
