David Simon: podcast appearances and interviews

David Judah Simon, born in 1960, is an American author, journalist, screenwriter, and producer. He is known for his work on the television series The Wire, which aired from 2002 to 2008, and for his books including Homicide: A Year on the Killing Streets and The Corner: A Year in the Life of an Inner-City Neighborhood. Simon worked for The Baltimore Sun's City Desk for twelve years, writing and producing for the NBC series Homicide: Life on the Street, based on his book. He also adapted The Corner into an HBO mini-series. As a creator and showrunner, Simon has an extensive television portfolio including Treme, Show Me a Hero, The Deuce, and The Plot Against America. His work has earned recognition such as the MacArthur Fellowship and being named an Utne Reader visionary. Simon collaborated with journalist William F. Zorzi on Show Me a Hero and with George Pelecanos on The Deuce and We Own This City, a limited series that premiered on HBO in April 2022. Throughout his career, Simon has developed critically acclaimed series that explore social and cultural themes. Currently, he holds the position of president at Vibenomics, a role that complements his diverse experience in media and entertainment.
