Sofia Carmina Coppola, born on May 14, 1971, is an American filmmaker and former actress. She is the daughter of filmmakers Eleanor and Francis Ford Coppola and made her acting debut as an infant in her father's film The Godfather. Coppola appeared in several music videos and had supporting roles in films such as Peggy Sue Got Married and The Godfather Part III. She transitioned into directing with her first feature film, The Virgin Suicides, released in 1999, which marked the beginning of her collaborations with actress Kirsten Dunst.
