David Oyelowo: podcast appearances and interviews

David Oyetokunbo Animamuma Oyerugba Chukwudi Oyelowo is a Nigerian-British actor, director, and producer born on April 1, 1976. His work has earned him several accolades, including a Critics' Choice Award and two NAACP Image Awards. He has also received nominations for three Golden Globe Awards, two Primetime Emmy Awards, a Screen Actors Guild Award, and a BAFTA Award. In 2016, he was appointed an Officer of the Order of the British Empire for his services to drama. Oyelowo gained prominence for his portrayal of Martin Luther King Jr. in the 2014 film Selma and for his role as Peter Snowden in the HBO film Nightingale, both of which received critical acclaim. Additionally, he has been recognized for his performances as Louis Gaines in The Butler, Seretse Khama in A United Kingdom, and Robert Katende in Queen of Katwe. His supporting film roles include appearances in Rise of the Planet of the Apes, The Help, Lincoln, Red Tails, and Jack Reacher, all released between 2011 and 2012. On television, he has played MI5 officer Danny Hunter in the British series Spooks and Javert in the BBC miniseries Les Misérables. He also provided voice work for Agent Alexsandr Kallus in Lucasfilm's Star Wars Rebels and for Holston Becker in the Apple+ series Silo. Currently, he stars in and co-produces the 2023 Paramount+ western series Lawmen: Bass Reeves.
