Anthony Frank Hawk, born on May 12, 1968, is an American professional skateboarder, entrepreneur, and owner of the skateboard company Birdhouse. He is known as a pioneer of modern vertical skateboarding and achieved fame by completing the first documented 900 skateboarding trick in 1999. That same year, he licensed a skateboarding video game series named after him, published by Activision. Hawk retired from professional competition in 2003 and is widely regarded as one of the greatest and most influential skateboarders of all time. In addition to his skateboarding career, he is involved in philanthropic activities through the Skatepark Project, an organization dedicated to building skateparks in underprivileged areas worldwide.
