David Andrew Leo Fincher, born on August 28, 1962, is an American director and producer recognized as one of the leading filmmakers of his generation. His films have achieved significant commercial success, grossing over 2.1 billion dollars worldwide. Fincher has earned multiple industry accolades, including nominations for three Academy Awards, and awards from the BAFTA, Golden Globe, Primetime Emmy, and Grammy organizations. In 1986, he co-founded Propaganda Films, a production company through which he directed numerous music videos, some of which received notable recognition such as the MTV Video Music Award for Best Direction. He directed music videos for artists like Madonna, the Rolling Stones, and Justin Timberlake, earning Grammy Awards for videos for the Rolling Stones and Justin Timberlake.
