David Eby: podcast appearances and interviews

David Robert Patrick Eby is a Canadian politician and lawyer who has served as the 37th premier of British Columbia since November 18, 2022. He is a member of the British Columbia New Democratic Party and has held the leadership position since October 21, 2022. Eby has represented the Vancouver-Point Grey constituency in the Legislative Assembly of British Columbia since 2013. His legal career began with a focus on civil rights and social justice issues at Pivot Legal Society. He later served as the executive director of the British Columbia Civil Liberties Association from 2008 to 2012, gaining recognition for his advocacy on civil liberties and legal reforms. During this period, he was also an adjunct law professor at the University of British Columbia and served as president of the Canadian HIV/AIDS Legal Network. Eby was elected to the provincial legislature in 2013, unseating incumbent Premier Christy Clark. His legislative work has addressed housing affordability, public safety, and legal reforms. In 2017, he was appointed attorney general in Premier John Horgan's cabinet, contributing to policies on housing, money laundering, and electoral reform. Following Premier Horgan's resignation in 2022 due to health issues, Eby became the leader of the NDP, was elected by acclamation, and was sworn in as premier. In the 2024 provincial election, he led the NDP to retain a narrow majority, securing 47 seats in the legislature.
