David Dastmalchian: podcast appearances and interviews

David Dastmalchian, born on July 21, 1975, is an American actor, writer, and producer recognized for his work in science fiction and superhero films and television series. He has appeared in three films directed by Denis Villeneuve, including Prisoners in 2013, Blade Runner 2049 in 2017, and Dune in 2021, where he portrayed the character Piter De Vries. Dastmalchian stars as Gurathin in the upcoming Apple TV+ series Murderbot set to premiere in 2025 and is cast as Mr. 3 in the Netflix series One Piece scheduled for 2026.

His supporting roles span numerous superhero productions, with his first film role in The Dark Knight in 2008. He played Kurt in the films Ant-Man in 2015 and Ant-Man and the Wasp in 2018, and portrayed Polka-Dot Man in The Suicide Squad in 2021. His television work includes appearances in Gotham and The Flash, with the latter series running from 2017 to 2021. Dastmalchian also appeared in Christopher Nolan's film Oppenheimer in 2023.

Beyond his character acting, Dastmalchian has taken on leading roles in films such as the 2014 semi-autobiographical movie Animals, which he also wrote, as well as the 2023 horror film Late Night with the Devil.
