Dave Stevens: podcast appearances and interviews

Dave Lee Stevens (July 29, 1955 – March 11, 2008) was an American illustrator and comics artist. He is best known for creating the iconic character The Rocketeer, which appeared in comic books and a subsequent film adaptation. Stevens was also recognized for his pin-up style glamour art illustrations, notably featuring model Bettie Page. His talent was acknowledged early in his career when he became the first recipient of Comic-Con International's Russ Manning Most Promising Newcomer Award in 1982. In 1986, he received both an Inkpot Award and the Kirby Award for Best Graphic Album, reflecting his influence and skill within the industry. Later in his career, Stevens served as the founder and managing director of Newlyn Harbour, applying his creative talents and leadership skills in a different domain. His contributions to illustration, comics, and artistic entrepreneurship have left a lasting impact.
