Daniel Goleman is an American psychologist, author, and science journalist born on March 7, 1946. He spent twelve years writing for The New York Times, where his work focused on the brain and behavioral sciences. Goleman is best known for his 1995 book Emotional Intelligence, which was on The New York Times Best Seller list for a year and a half and has been translated into 40 languages, selling widely across many countries. His writings extend beyond emotional intelligence to include topics such as self-deception, creativity, transparency, meditation, social and emotional learning, ecoliteracy, the ecological crisis, and The Dalai Lama's vision for the future.
