Damon Kyle Wayans Sr. is an American stand-up comedian, actor, producer, and writer born on September 4, 1960. As a member of the Wayans family of entertainers, he gained early recognition through performances as a comedian and actor during the 1980s, which included a brief appearance on the NBC sketch comedy series Saturday Night Live. He later collaborated with his family on Fox's sketch comedy show In Living Color from 1990 to 1992 and was involved in writing and performing for his own animated series Waynehead from 1996 to 1997, as well as for the live-action series Damon in 1998. Throughout his career, he has starred in multiple films and television shows, many of which he co-produced or co-wrote. His film credits include Mo' Money, The Last Boy Scout, Major Payne, and Bulletproof. On television, he starred in sitcoms such as My Wife and Kids and Poppa's House with his son Damon Wayans Jr. From 2016 to 2019, he played the role of Roger Murtaugh in the Fox television series Lethal Weapon.
