Jamie Lee Curtis, born on November 22, 1958, is an American actress, producer, and children's author. She is known for her performances in the horror and slasher genres, as well as in various comedies, and is regarded as a scream queen. Curtis is the daughter of actors Tony Curtis and Janet Leigh. She made her screen debut in 1977 in an episode of the television drama Quincy, M.E., and her film debut occurred with the role of Laurie Strode in John Carpenter's Halloween in 1978. This role proved to be her breakthrough and established her as a prominent figure in the horror genre.
