Rayne Dakota Prescott, born July 29, 1993, is an American football quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys in the National Football League. He played college football for the Mississippi State Bulldogs, earning first-team All-SEC honors twice. Prescott was selected by the Cowboys in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL draft. Initially expected to serve as a backup in his rookie season, he became the starting quarterback after an injury to the starter, Tony Romo, during the preseason. Prescott then led the Cowboys to the conference top seed and set several rookie quarterback records, which earned him the Offensive Rookie of the Year award. Throughout his career, Prescott has achieved notable statistical rankings, including seventh all-time in completion percentage with at least 1,500 pass attempts and eighth in the NFL's all-time regular season career passer rating. He has led the Cowboys to four division titles, made four Pro Bowl appearances, and received one All-Pro selection.
