Claire Catherine Danes is an American actress born on April 12, 1979. She has been active in film and television since her teenage years and has received numerous awards for her performances, including three Primetime Emmy Awards and four Golden Globe Awards. Her early recognition came with her role in the 1994 teen drama series My So-Called Life, which earned her a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Television Series Drama and a Primetime Emmy nomination.
