Burgess Owens: podcast appearances and interviews

Clarence Burgess Owens, born on August 2, 1951, is an American politician and former professional football player. He served as a safety in the National Football League for ten seasons, playing for the New York Jets and the Oakland and Los Angeles Raiders. During his NFL career, Owens was part of the Raiders team that won Super Bowl XV in 1980. After retiring from professional football, he founded several businesses and became the CEO of a nonprofit organization focused on assisting troubled and incarcerated youth. Owens is a member of the Republican Party and was elected to the United States House of Representatives representing Utah's 4th congressional district in 2021 after narrowly defeating incumbent Democrat Ben McAdams in 2020. He is recognized as one of four Black Republicans in the House of Representatives. On March 4, 2026, Owens announced that he would not seek re-election in the upcoming election.
