Brian Edward Patrick Kennedy, born on 12 October 1966, is a singer, songwriter, and author from Northern Ireland. He achieved commercial success in the United Kingdom and Ireland during the 1990s and 2000s with a number of hit singles and albums. Kennedy represented Ireland in the Eurovision Song Contest 2006 with his song 'Every Song is a Cry for Love,' which finished in tenth place and was notable for marking the 1,000th song in Eurovision history. In addition to his music career, Kennedy holds the position of Distinguished Professor of Biochemistry and Physiology at the National University of Singapore.
