Brett Story: podcast appearances and interviews

Brett Story is a Canadian documentary filmmaker known for her work on films such as The Prison in Twelve Landscapes, which was released in 2016. The film received multiple accolades, including a $5,000 Special Jury Citation at the 2016 Hot Docs Canadian International Documentary Festival in the Best Canadian Feature Documentary category. It also won the Colin Low Award for best Canadian documentary at the 2016 DOXA Documentary Film Festival and was awarded Best Canadian Documentary at the Vancouver Film Critics Circle Awards in 2016. Additionally, it received a nomination for Best Feature Length Documentary at the 5th Canadian Screen Awards in 2017. Her 2017 short documentary CamperForce was adapted from Jessica Bruder's book Nomadland and is noted for influencing Chloé Zhao’s 2020 film adaptation. In 2019, Story released The Hottest August. In 2024, she co-directed Union, a film exploring the Amazon Labor Union, alongside Stephen T. Maing.
