Bernard Cornwell: podcast appearances and interviews

Bernard Cornwell, born on 23 February 1944, is an English author known for his historical novels and a history of the Waterloo campaign. He has written five series of historical novels primarily focused on English history and one series of contemporary thrillers. His best-known work is the long-running series about Napoleonic Wars rifleman Richard Sharpe, which has been adapted into a television series by ITV. Cornwell also authored The Saxon Stories, a series of thirteen novels about the unification of England, and wrote a nonfiction book on the Battle of Waterloo. A notable feature of his historical novels is the inclusion of end notes discussing how the stories align or differ from actual history, and observations on what modern sites of the events look like. Three of his historical series have been adapted for television, namely the Sharpe series, The Last Kingdom, produced by BBC and Netflix, and The Winter King for MGM+. He resides in the United States, splitting his time between Cape Cod in Massachusetts and Charleston in South Carolina, with his wife.
