Andrew Michael Bogut is an Australian professional basketball coach and former player who is currently an assistant coach with the Sydney Kings of the National Basketball League. Standing at 7 feet tall, Bogut’s career was primarily spent in the National Basketball Association where he was selected first overall by the Milwaukee Bucks in the 2005 NBA draft. He earned All-NBA Third Team honors in 2010 and was named to the NBA All-Defensive Second Team in 2015. Bogut was instrumental in team achievements including an NBA championship with the Golden State Warriors in 2015. Throughout his career, he was recognized for his defensive skills and rebounding ability. Bogut played college basketball for the Utah Utes for two years, during which he received national player of the year honors in 2005. He became the first Australian to be the NBA's first overall pick and was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team in 2006. His playing career included significant contributions to the Warriors during their record-setting 73-win season and multiple NBA Finals appearances. After stints with the Dallas Mavericks, Cleveland Cavaliers, and Los Angeles Lakers, Bogut returned to Australia to play for the Sydney Kings, winning the NBL Most Valuable Player Award in 2018. He later rejoined the Warriors in the 2018-2019 season and returned to the Kings before retiring in 2020.
