Allyson Felix: podcast appearances and interviews

Allyson Michelle Felix, born November 18, 1985, is an American track and field athlete known for competing in the 100 meters, 200 meters, and 400 meters. She is an Olympic champion in the 200 meters from the 2012 London Games and has won three world championships in the same event from 2005 to 2009. Felix has also earned two Olympic silver medals in 2004 and 2008. In the 400 meters, she is the 2015 world champion, and she has secured Olympic medals in 2016, 2020, and 2021. Over her career, Felix has achieved ten U.S. national titles across short-distance events and played a significant role on the United States women's relay teams, winning six Olympic gold medals in relays at the 4 × 400 meters and 4 × 100 meters from 2008 to 2020. The 2012 and 2016 U.S. 4 × 100 m relay teams set a world record and the second-fastest time, respectively. Felix became the first female track and field athlete to win seven Olympic gold medals in 2021. She is regarded as the most decorated woman and American in Olympic track and field history, with a total of 11 medals from five Olympic Games, and holds the record for the most medals in World Athletics Championships history with 20. Her personal best in the 200 meters is 21.69 seconds, and she has recorded historically notable split times in relay events. Outside of competition, Felix has been active in advocating for athletes' rights and maternity protections, co-founding the footwear company Saysh. Initially retiring in 2022, she announced a comeback for the 2028 Olympics, and her influence has been recognized with inclusion in Time magazine's 100 Most Influential People and an honorary degree from USC.
