What does Seneca Park Zoo do?

Seneca Park Zoo Society is a nonprofit organization dedicated to wildlife conservation and community engagement in Rochester, New York. Established in 1957, it partners with Monroe County to manage the Seneca Park Zoo, which spans 20 acres and is home to over 90 species. The zoo is accredited by the Association of Zoos and Aquariums and features exhibits such as a Cold Asia area with snow leopards and red pandas. The Society offers a variety of educational programs for children and teens, engaging over 16,000 participants annually. It also runs community conservation initiatives, habitat remediation projects, and manages food and gift operations at the zoo. With a mission to inspire the community to connect with and conserve wildlife, the organization serves approximately 400,000 zoo guests each year and reaches a digital audience of 250,000.
