The Plant Based Foods Association (PBFA) is the first U.S. trade association dedicated to representing plant-based food companies and allies. Founded in 2016, it has over 350 member companies. PBFA's mission is to champion and elevate the plant-based foods industry while promoting a sustainable food system that benefits people, the planet, and animals. The organization works closely with its sister nonprofit, the Plant Based Foods Institute (PBFI), focusing on policy progress, market expansion, and systems change. PBFA provides extensive support to its members through policy advocacy, marketplace development, and community engagement. It represents members in legislative matters, promotes plant-based products in retail and foodservice, and offers resources for business growth. The association also conducts research to drive food system transformation, emphasizing the importance of plant-based foods in creating a resilient future. Under the leadership of CEO Rachel Dreskin, PBFA aims to align values and business interests for a healthier and more equitable food system.
