Episode #209
#209 - Katelyn Scott setting the barrel racing world on fire
Katelyn Scott joins The Luke Branquinho Show after a 2025 season that put her name on the barrel racing map in a big way. From a Caldwell win that helped set her season in motion to making the NFR and placing in six of 10 rounds, Katelyn takes us behind the scenes of a career year — including the tough decisions, sacrifices and perspective that helped get her there. Katelyn talks about her horse Peanut, including the decision to turn out of Cody and head to Calgary, the confidence-building run that followed, and the incredible NFR moment when Peanut went down at the first barrel but got back up and finished the pattern. She also shares what it meant to carry on her family's rodeo legacy. Her great-aunt Margaret Owens Montgomery was the first president of the Girls Rodeo Association in 1948 and a world champion, making Katelyn's journey to the NFR part of a much larger family history in rodeo. Plus, Katelyn opens up about the people who have helped guide her career, learning how to lose gracefully, finding perspective when things don't go your way, and what people often misunderstand about her away from the arena. **In this episode:** * Caitlin's breakout 2025 season * The Caldwell and San Bernardino wins * Making the decision to turn out of Cody * The bond between Caitlin and Peanut * Making the NFR and placing in six rounds * Peanut's unforgettable fall in Round 7 * Caitlin's family's rodeo legacy * Her great-aunt Margaret Owens Montgomery's history * The importance of having people in your corner * Learning how to lose gracefully * Finding perspective through the highs and lows of rodeo * What people get wrong about Caitlin ━━━━━━━━━━ ★ Get in touch: lbs@banditproductionco.com Website: www.thelukebranquinhoshow.com Follow us on: ➤ Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/lukebranquinhoshow/ ➤ TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@thelukebranquinhoshow ━━━━━━━━━━ ★ Learn more about your ad choices.
