She argues that roughly 16 million women have left the church over the last decade and did not find nothing in its place — they found something else. She makes the faith-and-community case for what heals, and speaks from her own history of poverty, trauma, and recovery. Alpert diagnoses in clinical language and locates the failure in institutions. Andersen locates the cure in faith, church, and embodied community. Kraus reports from inside the ecosystem without either vocabulary.
