James Talarico: podcast appearances and interviews

James Dell Talarico is an American politician and educator serving as a member of the Texas House of Representatives since 2018. Born in Round Rock, Texas, he earned a Bachelor of Arts in government from the University of Texas at Austin in 2011 and a Master of Education degree in education policy from Harvard University in 2016. Prior to his political career, Talarico worked as a middle school English teacher and served as an executive director for an education nonprofit. During his time in the Texas House, he began pursuing a Master of Divinity at Austin Presbyterian Theological Seminary. In 2025, Talarico announced his candidacy for the United States Senate in 2026, successfully winning the Democratic nomination after defeating U.S. representative Jasmine Crockett in the primary. He is the Democratic nominee in the upcoming election and is set to face the Republican nominee, Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton.
