  O say can you seeeeee? One hell of a finish? Well the finish certainly had people talking about Ferrari again, this time in a bit more positive light than Austria. Round 16 of 17 in the US of A! One driver who did not participate however was Felipa Massa. He was due to serve a ten place grid drop for an avoidable collision with Pedro De La Rosa in Italy, but the team found a loophole where they would not need to serve it if they just replaced him.. Which they did.. With Heinz - Harald - Frentzen. Unfortunately, this would also be the last ever start for Allan Mcnish who only lasted 1 season here in F1. Jenson Button & Jaguar had reason to celebrate, both being their 50th F1 Race Start. Also , a HUGE milestone in the fact that the winners of the race, this would be incredibly be their 60th 1- 2 Finish!   GREAT NEWS! Alex Yoong was back in his Minardi after Anthony Davidson had replaced him for *Checks notes* Not qualifying for three races in a row.. Could this be the day Yoong does it?! (Yes, Albeit 1.3 Seconds off team mate Mark Webber) Bad news too.. This would actually be Eddie Irvines 50th & LAST Ever race he finished in the points! Would also be the 2nd and last ever podium for the team who finished 3rd in this race, which is pretty awful. While not a classic race, there was much excitement and many things happening including a huge shunt between Felipe Massa & Pedro De La Rosa in which Massa would become the first ever driver to get a ten place grid drop for the next race.. Although the two titles were over with, the battle for second place was heating up nicely with Barrichello, The Williams' & The Mclarens still at it! There were to be some kind of celebrations as one small team would get their first point since Australia..   This was a revised circuit, the long forest straights had gone. This was to improve safety and more fan access to be able to see some cars. Mixed bag of reviews but safe to say.. It wasn't all that bad. Channel 9 popping in and out whenever they please still gets annoying sadly, especially during an epic battle between Montoya and Raikkonen. Also NEWS! There looked to have been a buyer for the Arrows team who really were in dire straits.. So much so, they didnt qualify in the last race but could they be saved? This would be, sadly, Enrique Bernoldis last ever start. As for good stats, A podium finisher would be his countries first to reach 10 podiums. The winner would also get his 10th Hat Trick, and the 2nd ever to complete 10.   This was it then.. Championship deciding day. The last race of the season? Huh? It's NOT! No, there are still 6 races left to go after this one, so the inevitability of Michael Schumacher becoming a 5 time world champion was there for all to see. But could he equal the record with Juan Manuel Fangio with a record 6 races to spare? Well, once again he would have to try to beat the high flying colombian of Juan Pablo Montoya from pole. Amazingly, Tom Walkinshaw paid off some cosworth debts so Arrows were allowed to race, but things for the Orange team would soon get worse. Plus, David Coulthards fastest lap in this race was the LAST one until 2007! Amazing stat.
