Ep 239 - In the Name of the Most Holy Trinity: Dr. Dan Samms on Christian Federalism

  Oct 2, 20261h 34m

Dr. Dan Samms holds a doctorate from Liberty University on the very topic his critics would rather bury, and he turned it into Christian Federalism: The Founding Vision and the Road Ahead , a 259-page field manual for Christians ready to stop spectating. Justin and Jesse dig into the surprising origin of the term "Christian nationalism," the founding documents that settle the debate, and the three competing Christian approaches to law: natural law, positive law (theonomic general equity), and the soft Christian-influence model that has, in Dan's words, gotten people killed. Then Dan gets practical: how to run candidates from your church for city council and school board, why local elections swing on fifty to two hundred votes, what Gideon's destruction of Baal's altar authorizes, and why federalism begins in the home with a man who leads. Ep 238 - Just Do It Right: BD Fleming on Christian Liberty and the Theology of Cigar Smoking

  Sep 18, 20261h 14m

BD Fleming wrote a book about cigars, and it ends up being about so many good things: Christian liberty, masculine fellowship, fear of man, and whether the weaker brother should be idolized or discipled into health. Justin and Jesse bring their own receipts: a movie Bible study that got Jesse hauled into the senior pastor's office, and a youth group incident involving alcohol that got them temporarily removed from ministry. BD walks through Romans 14, 1 Corinthians 8–10, and Psalm 16:11 as they discuss the two ditches of legalism and antinomianism, why Spurgeon and CS Lewis and Tolkien and Chesterton all smoked and didn't hide it, and what it actually means to bring all of life under the Lordship of Christ. If you've ever driven two towns over to the liquor store so nobody would recognize you, this episode is both your conviction and your permission slip. Ep 237 - All Dogs Go to Heaven, but Feminism Can Go to Hell: Lindsay Clancy Trial

  Sep 4, 20261h 9m

Lindsey Clancy murdered her three children — Cora, Dawson, and Colin — on January 24, 2023. She is not disputing this. Her husband Patrick was not home. She orchestrated sending him out specifically so she would be alone with the children. The GoFundMe for her defense raised over a million dollars before it was shut down. Women in pink are organizing outside the courthouse. The jury is hung. Justin and Jesse walk through the full timeline of that day, compare it to how male defendants have been treated when pleading insanity (Dahmer, Gacy, Albert Fish — all denied), connect the cultural response directly to abortion law and what we've told women for fifty years, and ask the only question that matters: where is the cry for justice for three children whose voices were taken from them? If you've been avoiding this case because it's too dark and too heavy, this episode is not entertainment — it's the conversation the church needs to be having right now. Ep 236 - You're the Oppressor: Critical Theory's War on Parents, Children, and Reality

  Aug 7, 202650 min

The CEO of PragerU flagged it and Justin and Jesse ran it down: "adultism" is the newest critical theory movement, and it is currently being trained into educators at universities by a consulting firm that cannot run its own company according to its own principles. The idea is straightforward — adults oppress children by doing things like setting rules, making curriculum choices, and sometimes hugging them without asking first. Justin and Jesse trace the whole framework from Movement Consulting's anti-capitalist university trainings through a real April 2026 session at a San Francisco high school that explicitly labeled teachers as oppressors and students as the oppressed — and then explain where the "bodily autonomy for children" argument terminates, because that endpoint is not subtle. They also cover Karl Marx's actual family history (it is not good), the John Adams HBO scene about a drunk son that has more to say about parenting than any critical theory article, and why the church needs to be louder about this specifically. If you've ever had someone tell you that talking down to your child is oppression, this episode is the response. Ep 235 - Mamdani vs. Franklin & Jefferson: Epic Speech Battles of History!

  Jul 24, 202645 min

Two weeks after reacting to NYC Mayor Mamdani's Fourth of July speech, Justin and Jesse bring in the contrast: the founders, speaking for themselves. They read Benjamin Franklin's 1787 speech calling for prayer at the Constitutional Convention — the one where he quotes three Bible verses in three paragraphs and asks why a room full of the most educated men in America forgot to consult "the Father of lights." Then they read the part of the Declaration of Independence you've never seen: Thomas Jefferson's original draft included a full grievance against the king for forcing the slave trade on the colonies, calling it "piratical warfare, the opprobrium of infidel powers." It was removed — not because Virginia opposed it, but because South Carolina and Georgia refused to sign unless it was cut. James Madison predicted there would be war within 60 years if slavery wasn't resolved. He was right. If you've ever wanted to watch two founding fathers comprehensively out-argue every modern politician without even trying, this is the episode.
