Becoming with Faith
WHAT HAVE I MADE MY SOURCE?
While reading the book of Hosea, the Holy Spirit began to challenge me about idolatry—not just in the obvious sense, but in the subtle ways I can look to good things as my source. Marriage. Success. Personal development. Fulfillment. I began asking myself: Have I been expecting these things to give me what only God can give me? In this episode, I share what God has been teaching me about the difference between the gift and the Giver , and the practical things I’m learning to do: acknowledge, practice gratitude, surrender, see good things as gifts, and choose contentment. Because I’m learning that I can desire the gift without making the gift my source. An idol is a noun ( a person , place , thing , thought) that you look to as your source to meet your needs . “Every good and perfect gift is from above…” — James 1:17
