Tebis at IMTS 2026 Preview: Automation, Aerospace and Technology
Aug 25, 202644 min
Choosing which technology to prioritize at IMTS is difficult when every booth claims to solve automation, quality and throughput problems at once. Manufacturers need a clearer signal of what's actually shifting the industry forward. In this special episode, host Michael Thiessen sits down with John Kowalczyk, President of Tebis America, to preview what Tebis is bringing to IMTS 2026 in Chicago. A 30-plus-year veteran who has attended every IMTS since 1998, John walks through Tebis's refreshed brand direction, why aerospace has become such a strategic growth area for the company, and how virtual machining and digital twins are making true lights-out automation possible. The conversation also covers the Tebis ProLeiS MES foundation package, the new SmartOps automation technology, an interactive Automation Readiness Advisor tool debuting at the booth, and a live aerospace machining demo running in partnership with Hermle at the show. Whether you're a shop owner, CAM programmer, manufacturing engineer, or plant manager evaluating automation and MES investments, this episode offers a preview of what's worth prioritizing on the IMTS show floor. In this episode: 00:00 – Introduction: A special episode ahead of IMTS 2026 06:21 – Why IMTS is a magnet for the manufacturing industry 11:35 – Why aerospace has become a strategic fit for Tebis 14:08 – Virtual machining, digital twins and the case for true lights-out automation 18:27 – Tebis ProLeiS MES: visibility, bottlenecks and the new foundation package 23:53 – SmartOps: Tebis's automation "brain" on the CAM side 32:28 – Live aerospace demo with machine tool partner Hermle To learn more about Tebis at IMTS 2026, visit https://www.tebis.com/en/lp/2026/imts To view the Tebis MES webinar mentioned in this episode, visit https://attendee.gotowebinar.com/recording/5980731284637437782 Tell us what you think - send us a text message! IMTS 2026 Preview: Modern Manufacturing Trends with Tom Skubala
Aug 6, 202638 min
Attending IMTS requires significant time away from the machine shop floor. For shop owners and engineers, separating must-see manufacturing technology from event noise is essential for real operational gains. In this episode, host Michael Thiessen sits down with MTDCNC technical specialist Tom Skubala to preview IMTS 2026 at McCormick Place in Chicago. Dubbed the "World Cup" of manufacturing, IMTS showcases breakthrough CNC machining, software, and shop-floor automation. Together, Michael and Tom discuss how multi-tasking mill-turn centers, digital twin simulation, and advanced robotics are reshaping production, along with practical strategies for navigating the show floor to eliminate real-world bottlenecks. Whether you are a machine shop owner, manufacturing engineer, CNC programmer, or plant manager, this episode provides an actionable guide to getting the absolute most ROI out of your IMTS experience. In this episode: 00:00 - Introduction: Why IMTS is the "World Cup" of Manufacturing 04:15 - Advanced Automation, Robotics & Multi-Tasking Mill-Turn Centers 11:30 - Digital Twin Simulation, CAM Software & Unlocking Lights-Out Production 18:45 - Navigating the Chicago Show Floor: Strategies for Maximum ROI 25:10 - Closing the Manufacturing Skills Gap & Preserving Knowledge 33:20 - Leveraging Industry Networking to Solve Shop-Floor Bottlenecks Tell us what you think - send us a text message! In this episode of The All-Axis Podcast, host Michael Thiessen sits down with Sebastian Chedal, founder and CEO of Fountain City, to separate the AI hype from real-world industrial application. While some departments are moving at lightning speed, compressing development cycles from six months to six weeks, many manufacturing executives are still stuck in the browser-based ChatGPT sandbox. Sebastian shares direct insights on the state of AI adoption, the critical importance of technical AI governance, and how custom-built autonomous agents are solving massive ERP reporting bottlenecks and preserving institutional knowledge against an aging workforce. Tune in to discover how to move your workforce "behind the glass" to orchestrate high-level productivity, rather than getting left behind in the desert of digital stagnation. Celebrating 30 Years of Innovation and the Future of Digital Manufacturing
Jun 9, 202635 minS0

In this celebratory episode, Michael Thiessen is joined by two special guests, Gerardo Mueller, International Sales Director of Tebis AG (and the "founder" of Tebis America), and John Kowalczyk, President of Tebis America. Together, they look back at what it was like introducing a completely unknown German CAD/CAM software to Detroit's powerhouse automotive industry in the mid-1990s. The discussion also explores how early breakthroughs, including workshop-oriented programming and reliable, gap-free toolpath generation solved critical challenges for early adopters, and how those original relationships evolved from automotive tool and die into highly diversified aerospace and precision component manufacturing.<...

In this episode, host Michael Thiessen sits down with global technology expert Chris Carter to demystify the rapidly evolving world of artificial intelligence (AI) in manufacturing. With a background rooted in the automotive and aerospace industries, Chris shares how AI, formerly known as machine learning, is moving beyond dark magic to become a functional tool on the shop floor.

The discussion explores practical applications of AI, from predicting maintenance needs on punch press machines to optimizing speeds and feeds in real-time. Chris addresses the primary angst felt by many in the industry: the fear of displacement. He...
Every question we get asked before someone starts their trial.
If you have a concern about deliverability, AI quality, data privacy, or whether this will actually work for your specific situation, it's probably answered below.
What is the difference between Founder Solo and Founder Pro?
Founder Solo gives you 50 AI pitches per month using the credit model (Standard pitches cost 1 credit, Enriched pitches cost 2). Founder Pro raises that to 200 credits per month and adds full Booking Probability access, unlimited Magic Match, Apollo enrichment credits, and data export capabilities. Both plans use the same credit system, so you can stretch your monthly budget further by using Standard-mode drafting.
How do agency tiers work?
Agency tiers have no base fee. You pay per managed client and per talent profile. Agency Standard is $199 per client per month; Agency Pro is $399 per client per month. Both add $39 per talent profile per month. Your own team's user seats are always free.
What is a talent profile?
A talent profile represents one person (founder, executive, or spokesperson) you are booking onto podcasts. It includes their bio, topics, headshots, and outreach history. Team plans include 5 profiles; agency plans are pay-as-you-go.
Can I switch plans later?
Yes, at any time. Upgrades take effect immediately; downgrades apply at the end of the current billing period. Contact support if you need help migrating between plan families.
Do you offer a free trial?
Every paid plan includes a 15-day free trial. Your card is saved at signup but you will not be charged until day 16. Cancel any time from your dashboard.
What happens if I cancel?
You keep access until the end of your current billing period. No charges after that. Your data is retained for 30 days in case you reactivate.
