Wayne Kelvin Forrest Brown, born in Auckland on 22 August 1946, is a New Zealand politician serving as the mayor of Auckland since 2022. He has a background in engineering from the University of Auckland and has worked in leadership positions across several large New Zealand businesses and public infrastructure organizations. Brown has experience in the public sector, having served as mayor of the Far North District Council from 2007 to 2013, after winning the election by a landslide. His career includes roles such as a director of Television New Zealand (TVNZ), Māori Television, Transpower, and Vector Ltd. He has also held the position of chair of the Land Transport Safety Authority. Brown's involvement in both business and public service has been extensive, and he is affiliated with Revive Ministries. His election as mayor of Auckland in 2022 marked his return to a prominent political role after previous experience in local government.
