Val McDermid: podcast appearances and interviews

Valarie McDermid, born on June 4, 1955, is a Scottish crime writer known for her contribution to the sub-genre of Tartan Noir. She has authored over 30 novels, which are recognized for their uncompromising depictions of violence. McDermid's work has received numerous accolades, including the Crime Writers' Association Gold Dagger Award and the Cartier Diamond Dagger Award. She is best known for a series of novels featuring clinical psychologist Dr. Tony Hill and his police collaborators. This series was adapted into the television show Wire in the Blood, which aired from 2002 to 2008. Additionally, her character Karen Pirie became the focus of the television series Karen Pirie, which has been ongoing since 2022.
