He has worked in NASCAR since 2012, initially serving as a car chief for Venturini Motorsports in the ARCA Racing Series. During this period, he worked on the No. 25 car driven by Brennan Poole and Alex Bowman. He later advanced to a role as a race engineer for the No. 99 Nationwide Series Toyota Camry driven by James Buescher at RAB Racing. In 2019, Allen was part of the Joe Gibbs Racing No. 18 Toyota Camry team that secured the NASCAR Cup Series Championship with crew chief Adam Stevens and driver Kyle Busch. As of his current position, he serves as the chief operating officer for Unit21, a role that involves overseeing operational functions. Allen is a graduate of the University of Washington, where he earned a bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering. At university, he contributed to the UW Formula SAE team for four years, gaining practical engineering experience.
