Maksymilian Rafailovych Max Levchin is a Ukrainian-American software engineer and entrepreneur born on July 11, 1975. He is the co-founder and CEO of Affirm, a financial services company that offers buy now, pay later solutions. Levchin was also a co-founder of PayPal, which he helped establish as Confinity in 1998. During his time at PayPal, he served as chief technology officer and contributed significantly to the company's anti-fraud efforts. One of his notable innovations was co-creating the Gausebeck-Levchin test, which was among the first commercial implementations of CAPTCHA technology. Additionally, he has involvement in the entertainment industry as a producer for the film Thank You for Smoking.
