Troye Sivan Mellet is an Australian singer-songwriter and actor born on June 5, 1995. He initially gained popularity through his performances on YouTube and in Australian talent competitions before signing with EMI Australia in 2013. Sivan is known for his early extended plays TRXYE and Wild, with the former reaching number five on the US Billboard 200, and his debut single Happy Little Pill becoming a Top 10 hit in Australia. As of 2024, he has sold 10 million albums worldwide. His first full-length album Blue Neighbourhood was released in 2015, featuring the multi-platinum single Youth, which achieved mainstream success in the United States. His second album Bloom, released in 2018, charted highly in Australia and the US, with its lead single My My My! reaching number one on the Billboard Dance Club Songs chart. His third studio album Something to Give Each Other was released in 2023 and topped the ARIA Albums chart; it included singles that earned him three Grammy nominations. In addition to his music career, Sivan has acted in films and television, notably portraying a young Wolverine in X-Men Origins Wolverine and starring in the Spud film trilogy. He received the GLAAD Stephen F. Kolzak Award in 2017 and was nominated for a Golden Globe for the song Revelation from the film Boy Erased, in which he also acted. Sivan has starred in the film Three Months and the HBO series The Idol. Rolling Stone Australia named him one of the country's 50 greatest artists of all time in 2020.
