Toni Michele Braxton, born on October 7, 1967, is an American singer, songwriter, actress, and television personality. She began her career performing with her sisters in the R&B group the Braxtons, which was signed to Arista Records. Braxton gained widespread recognition as a solo artist after signing with LaFace Records, resulting in her debut album in 1993. The album achieved commercial success by reaching number one on the Billboard 200 chart and selling ten million copies worldwide. It produced hit singles such as 'Another Sad Love Song' and 'Breathe Again' and earned Braxton three Grammy Awards, including for Best New Artist. Her follow-up album, Secrets, released in 1996, continued her success with chart-topping singles like 'You're Makin' Me High/Let It Flow' and 'Un-Break My Heart.' Braxton's third album, The Heat, debuted at number two on the Billboard 200 and featured the international top-five single 'He Wasn't Man Enough.' Despite contractual disputes and health issues affecting subsequent albums;Snowflakes, More Than a Woman, Libra, and Pulse;she continued her musical output. In 2014, she released the duet album Love, Marriage & Divorce with Babyface, which won the Grammy Award for Best R&B Album. Beyond her music career, Braxton has been active in television, starring in the reality series Braxton Family Values and Tamar & Vince, and competing on Dancing with the Stars. She has received numerous accolades, including seven Grammy Awards, nine Billboard Music Awards, and seven American Music Awards, and was inducted into the Georgia Music Hall of Fame in 2011 and honored with the Legend Award at the Soul Train Music Awards in 2017.
