Edward Thomas Hardy, born on 15 September 1977, is an English actor known for his intense screen presence and versatility. His career spans independent films, major studio productions, and television, often portraying complex and psychologically driven characters. Hardy trained at the Drama Centre London and made his film debut in Black Hawk Down in 2001. He gained early recognition through roles in Star Trek: Nemesis and RocknRolla, and received critical acclaim for performances in Bronson, Warrior, Tinker Tailor Soldier Spy, Lawless, and Locke. His international prominence increased in 2015 when he starred as Max Rockatansky in Mad Max: Fury Road and played both Kray twins in Legend. That year, Hardy was nominated for the Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor for his role in The Revenant.
