Tim Lewis, born December 18, 1961, is an American football coach and former player. He played college football as a cornerback for the Pittsburgh Panthers. Lewis was selected in the first round of the 1983 NFL draft by the Green Bay Packers. His playing career was cut short after four seasons due to a neck injury. After retiring from playing, he transitioned into coaching at both collegiate and professional levels. Lewis served as the defensive coordinator for the Boston College Eagles and has held various coaching roles, including positions with the St. Louis BattleHawks and Arlington Renegades of the XFL, and as head coach of the Birmingham Iron of the Alliance of American Football in 2019. He is part of a family with deep ties to football, being the younger brother of former Memphis Express General Manager Will Lewis. His cousins include ESPN broadcaster Louis Riddick, a former NFL safety, and Robb Riddick, a former running back for the Buffalo Bills. Lewis's career encompasses both playing and coaching at high levels of American football, emphasizing his expertise in defensive strategies.
