Timothy Floyd Burchett, born on August 25, 1964, is an American politician serving as the U.S. representative for Tennessee's 2nd congressional district since 2019. The district is based in Knoxville. Burchett is a member of the Republican Party and has held various political positions within Tennessee. Prior to his congressional service, he was the mayor of Knox County, Tennessee. He also served in the Tennessee General Assembly, first in the Tennessee House of Representatives representing the 18th district, and later in the Tennessee Senate representing the 7th district, which is part of Knox County. During his tenure in the House, he became part of a subcommittee responsible for overseeing President Trump's Department of Government Efficiency.
