Therese Shechter: podcast appearances and interviews

Therese Shechter is an award-winning documentary filmmaker, writer, and artist. She is best known for her documentary films such as My So-Called Selfish Life, How to Lose Your Virginity, I Was A Teenage Feminist, How I Learned to Speak Turkish, and the short '#SlutWalkNYC'. Shechter is also the creator of The V-Card Diaries, an online collection featuring over 300 stories about sexual debuts and deferrals, which was showcased in The Kinsey Institute's Juried Art Show in 2013. Her work frequently addresses issues related to gender stereotypes and their impact on women's lives and identity. Her most recent documentary, My So-Called Selfish Life, explores the childfree movement. She has written on topics related to her work for publications including Self, Real Simple, and Topic. Shechter is an advocate for comprehensive sex education and media criticism as tools to combat misinformation about sex among teens and young people. Her production company, Trixie Films, is based in Brooklyn.
