Tanya Donelly is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist based in New England. She gained prominence as a co-founder of the band Throwing Muses with her step-sister Kristin Hersh. Donelly later co-founded the alternative rock band The Breeders with Kim Deal in 1989 before establishing her own band, Belly, in 1991. As the lead vocalist and songwriter for Belly, she received a Grammy nomination in the mid-1990s, especially recognized for her hit song Feed the Tree. The band recorded on labels such as Sire/Reprise Records and 4AD Records.
