Summer Marjani Walker, born on April 11, 1996, is an American singer and songwriter. She signed with the Atlanta-based record label Love Renaissance, an imprint of Interscope Records, in late 2017. Her debut commercial mixtape, Last Day of Summer, was released in 2018, with the lead single Girls Need Love, which featured a remix with Canadian rapper Drake; this remix became her first entry on the Billboard Hot 100. Her debut studio album, Over It, was released in 2019 and received critical praise. It peaked at number two on the Billboard 200 chart, briefly set a record for the biggest debut streaming week for a female R B artist, and was certified triple platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America. Her second studio album, Still Over It, debuted at the top of the Billboard 200 in 2021. It broke records for the most streams in a single day by a female artist on Apple Music and for the largest streaming debut week for a female R B artist. The album produced singles including Ex for a Reason with JT of City Girls, which charted within the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100, and No Love with SZA and Cardi B, which reached the top 15 and was certified platinum. In 2023, her single Good Good with Usher and 21 Savage entered the top 40 of the Billboard Hot 100. Walker has received numerous awards and nominations, including a Billboard Music Award, IHeartRadio Music Awards, three Soul Train Music Awards, and four Grammy nominations. In 2022, she was recognized by Billboard Women in Music with the Chart Breaker Award. As of 2026, she has sold over 53.5 million certified units from the RIAA.
