Steve Schneider: podcast appearances and interviews

Steve Schneider served as the president of Saint Mary’s Hospital. His background includes a diverse educational history, with studies at Newbold College in the United Kingdom and pursuit of a Ph.D. in comparative religion at the University of Hawaiʻi. Originally raised in a Seventh-day Adventist household in Wisconsin, Schneider later became involved with the Branch Davidian movement after converting around 1986. He was known for his efforts in gaining converts to the movement, reportedly converting several individuals, including David Thibodeau and others during a trip to England. Schneider was present at the Mount Carmel compound at the start of the Waco siege in February 1993 and remained there throughout the event. He died at the compound on April 19, 1993, with authorities believing that he shot David Koresh and then himself. His role in these events and his leadership within the community have been documented in various portrayals, including the 2018 miniseries Waco.
