Steve Russell: podcast appearances and interviews

Steve Russell is recognized as the UF Sports Radio Legend. In addition to his broadcasting career, he serves as the President and CEO of JAARS, Inc. A retired American soldier, Russell reached the rank of lieutenant colonel in the United States Army and played a notable role in the capture of Saddam Hussein during the Iraq War. His military service is complemented by his experience in politics; he served in the Oklahoma Senate from 2009 to 2013 and in the United States House of Representatives for Oklahoma's 5th congressional district from 2015 to 2019. A member of the Republican Party, Russell's political career included running for Congress after James Lankford's decision not to seek reelection. Despite winning two terms, he was defeated for re-election in 2018 by Democrat Kendra Horn. Following his political career, Russell served as an Executive Pastor at the First Southern Baptist Church of Oklahoma City from 2019 to 2022. He assumed his current role as President and CEO of JAARS, Inc. on October 1, 2022, continuing his leadership in a significant nonprofit organization.
