Sonya Renee Taylor is a New York Times best-selling author, activist, thought leader, spoken word artist, and founder of The Body Is Not An Apology global movement. Her work centers on issues of body liberation, racial justice, and transformational change, utilizing her framework of radical self-love. Taylor has authored seven books and created projects such as the 'What's Up, Y'all?' video series. She also initiated the Buy Back Black Debt project, which in October 2020 cleared over half a million dollars in Black-held debt. As a Black queer woman, Taylor identifies as fat, cisgender, and neurodivergent, and she actively advocates for social justice and equality through her diverse pursuits and activism.
