Sean M. O'Brien is an American labor leader and legal professional. He is the General President of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters, having been sworn into office on March 22, 2022, at the union's headquarters in Washington, D.C. Prior to this role, he served as the Vice President for the Eastern Region of the International Brotherhood of Teamsters. O'Brien was notably the youngest person to be elected as President of Teamsters Local Union 25 and held the position of Secretary-Treasurer of New England Joint Council 10 before resigning from both positions on March 1, 2022, to dedicate himself full-time to his leadership of the union. In addition to his work in labor organization, he is also known as a lawyer and professor, and is affiliated with UNH Extension.
