Sara Ullrika Watkins, born on June 8, 1981, is an American singer-songwriter and fiddler. She gained prominence as a founding member of Nickel Creek, a progressive bluegrass group she formed with her brother Sean Watkins and mandolinist Chris Thile. Watkins's talents extend beyond fiddling; she also performs vocals and plays the ukulele and guitar. Additionally, she has experience playing percussion, having toured with the Decemberists. During her career with Nickel Creek, she contributed to the release of five studio albums, one compilation album, and seven singles.
