Salih Hudayar: podcast appearances and interviews

Salih Hudayar is a Uyghur-American politician who advocates for the independence of East Turkistan. He founded the East Turkistan National Awakening Movement, now known as the East Turkistan National Movement, and has been a leader in efforts to restore East Turkistan's independence. Hudayar was elected as the Prime Minister of the East Turkistan Government-in-Exile on 11 November 2019. He served in this role until November 2023, when he was appointed as the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Security during the ETGE's 9th General Assembly. Throughout his career, Hudayar has been an advocate for international recognition of the Uyghur genocide and has actively campaigned for accountability and recognition of East Turkistan as an occupied territory. He played a significant role in leading a complaint to the International Criminal Court against Chinese officials in 2020. Hudayar has consistently criticized Chinese transnational repression and intelligence operations targeting the East Turkistan independence movement. In May 2026, he led efforts to petition the United Nations Special Committee on Decolonization to recognize East Turkistan as a Non-Self-Governing Territory and to implement the Declaration on the Granting of Independence to Colonial Countries and Peoples.
