Ryan Leaf: podcast appearances and interviews

Ryan David Leaf is a former professional football player who was a quarterback in the National Football League for four seasons. He played for the San Diego Chargers and the Dallas Cowboys between 1998 and 2001. During his college career with the Washington State Cougars, Leaf was a finalist for the Heisman Trophy after his junior year. He was selected as the second overall pick by the Chargers in the 1998 NFL draft, following Peyton Manning. Leaf's NFL career was affected by poor performance, injuries, and off-field issues. He was released by the Chargers after three seasons, during which he compiled a 4–14 record as a starting quarterback and missed the entire 1999 season due to injury. After a brief stint with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers during the offseason, he played in four games with the Dallas Cowboys in 2001. He signed with the Seattle Seahawks in 2002 but retired before the season began. Following his football career, Leaf completed his degree at Washington State. His post-career life included legal troubles involving drugs, resulting in probation and incarceration in Montana for felony burglary and drug possession. In 2020, he pled guilty to a misdemeanor domestic violence charge in California and was sentenced to probation. Leaf has worked as a Program Ambassador for the Transcend Recovery Community and as a host for a radio show. He also serves as a college football analyst on television.
