Alfred Rupert Sheldrake, born on 28 June 1942, is an English author and researcher in parapsychology. He has worked as a biochemist at Cambridge University, as a scholar at Harvard, and as a researcher at the Royal Society. Additionally, he has experience as a plant physiologist for ICRISAT in India. Sheldrake is known for proposing the concept of morphic resonance, a hypothesis that suggests that memory is inherent in nature and that natural systems inherit a collective memory from all previous members of their kind. He has also explored paranormal subjects including precognition, telepathy, and the psychic staring effect. His ideas extend to providing alternative explanations for biological phenomena such as development, inheritance, and memory.
