Roxane Gay: podcast appearances and interviews

Roxane Gay is an American writer, professor, editor, and social commentator. She is known for her diverse body of work, including the best-selling essay collection Bad Feminist published in 2014, as well as the short story collections Ayiti in 2011 and Difficult Women in 2017. Her novel An Untamed State appeared in 2014, and she authored the memoir Hunger in 2017. In her academic career, Gay holds the position of Gloria Steinem Endowed Chair in Media, Culture and Feminist Studies at Rutgers University. She previously served as an assistant professor at Eastern Illinois University and as an associate professor of English at Purdue University, where she earned tenure. In 2018, she transitioned to a visiting professor role at Yale University before returning to Rutgers in 2022. Beyond her academic pursuits, Gay contributes as an opinion writer for The New York Times and is involved in publishing and editorial work. She founded Tiny Hardcore Press, serves as essays editor for The Rumpus, and is the editor of Gay Mag, a publication developed in partnership with Medium.
